This year, the Floradale Public School Kindergarten class, taught by Mrs. Martin, decided to sell tree shaped cookies to their fellow students to raise money in support of Trees for Woolwich efforts to increase the forest cover. Their ECE, Alisha Weidemann, baked 300 cookies — donating her time and the materials — for the cause. The children were very excited about their contribution to the effort and raised $246.
Trees for Woolwich delivered a small pine tree from their tree nursery in Elmira in recognition of their efforts and many smiles and much tree hugging ensued.
On top of it all the tree cookies were delicious.
